Privacy Policy
Modus is a lifestyle platform. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who helps us run the service. Last updated 18 October 2026.
Questions about this policy: privacy@moduslab.ai. Anything else: m@moduslab.ai.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with us.
- What you log. Meals, workouts, habits, goals, notes and body measurements you enter or confirm.
- Photos you scan. To read a meal photo or a receipt, we send it to a model that recognizes the food. If you save the meal, we keep the photo in private cloud storage that only your account can open. A photo you do not save is not stored.
- Voice input. If you speak instead of typing, the recording is sent to a speech-to-text model and the text is kept with your entry. The recording itself is not kept.
- Health data you connect. If you connect Apple Health, Health Connect or another service, we read only the data you allow, such as workouts, steps and weight, to show it in Modus. You can disconnect at any time.
- Country, not location. To use the right local menus and food tables, we work out the country a meal was eaten in. We use the photo's location data, read on your phone (only the country leaves it), your device's approximate location if you allow it, or your phone's region setting. We do not store coordinates.
- How the product is used. Our own records of actions in the product, used to run and improve it. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services.
How we use it
To run Modus: logging, nutrition estimates, summaries, reminders and the assistant. Also to keep accounts secure and to fix problems. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
Who helps us run the service
These providers process data only to provide their service to us:
- Cloudflare: hosting, private photo storage, and the text models behind food matching, voice input and the assistant.
- Supabase: the database where your account records are kept.
- Anthropic: the model that reads meal photos and receipts.
- Google: sign-in with Google.
- Resend: the emails that let you sign in.
Your data may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States and Singapore.
Your choices
You can export the data in your account, and you can delete that product data, from Me → Data wallet. That removes the records, photos and saved health data we keep for the account. Removing the sign-in itself is a separate request to privacy@moduslab.ai.
Children
Modus is not meant for children under 16.
Changes
We will post any update on this page and change the date above. The terms for using Modus are at /terms.
